Hi! I’m Francisca Silva and I’m currently a post-doctoral researcher based at the University of Lisbon, as part of RUSSELL, a project aiming to explore the historical roots and contemporary viability of Russell’s logicist programme. I am currently also a member of the UPPER project, which aims to develop a neologicist project taking inspiration from Russell’s work. Previously, I completed my PhD in Philosophy at the University of Andrews in 2025. In my PhD project (you can find my dissertation here) I worked on the metaphysical and semantic foundations of three hyperintensional frameworks – impossible worlds semantics, subject matter theory and truthmaker semantics – combining them in various applications.

More broadly, I work in philosophical logic, formal epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of language, transfeminist philosophy and philosophy of time. I also have interests in the connection between formal epistemology and the philosophy of economics. Here you can find my CV.
